Ubiquitin K48 Selector is based on a high-affinity single-domain antibody (sdAb) that is covalently immobilized on 4% cross-linked agarose beads.
Ubiquitination is a post-translational modification in which an E3 ligase catalyzes the attachment of ubiquitin to a substrate protein. After the initial ubiquitin is conjugated, additional ubiquitin molecules can be linked through one of the seven lysine (K) residues in ubiquitin to form polyubiquitin chains. Linkage through lysine 48 (K48) serves as a canonical signal for proteasomal degradation, marking the substrate for recognition and processing by the 26S proteasome.
Ubiquitin K48 Selector is based on a single-domain antibody (sdAb), covalently immobilized on agarose beads, that specifically recognizes K48-linked polyubiquitin chains. It can be used in immunoprecipitation for the selective enrichment of K48-ubiquitinated proteins.
