FluoTag®-X2 anti-Synaptotagmin 1 (SYT1) is an alpaca single-domain antibody (sdAb) that recognizes specifically the cytoplasmic C-terminal domain of murine Synaptotagmin 1 with high affinity and specificity.
Syt1 belongs to a family with 17 members. Synaptotagmins are single-pass transmembrane proteins that contain at their intracellular portion two domains binding to calcium. Synaptotagmin 1 is enriched at the pre-synaptic boutons on axon terminals, associated with synaptic vesicles, and is implicated in triggering vesicle fusion and neurotransmitter release upon a local increase of calcium concentration. |Antigen:||Synaptotagmin 1 (cytosolic)|
|Specificity:||Recognizes the cytosolic domain of mouse Synaptotagmin 1. Also recognizes rat Synaptotagmin 1 (other species not tested).|
|Formulation:||Lyophilized from PBS pH 7.4. Reconstitute with 200 µL 50 % glycerol including 0.1 % sodium azid as preservative if applicable.|
|Storing:||Vials containing lyophilized protein can be stored at 4 °C for 6 months. We recommend reconstituting the protein with 50 % sterile glycerol including 0.1 % sodium azide as preservative if applicable. Minimize the number of freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting the reconstituted protein. Long term storage at -80 °C for up to 6 months. Working aliquots can be stored at -20 °C for up to 4 weeks. We do not recommend storing the reconstituted protein at 4 °C.|
