FluoTag®-Q anti-SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid is derived from a single-domain antibody (sdAb) that binds to the Nucleocapsid (N) protein of SARS-CoV-2 with high affinity. The Nucleocapsid of SARS-CoV-2 is an abundant RNA-binding protein critical for the packaging of the single-stranded RNA viral genome. Due to its abundance, it can be used as a diagnostic marker in biopsies and tissues. The N protein is also present inside virion particles bound to single-stranded RNA.

Our nanobody binds strongly to N protein of SARS-CoV-2, even under harsh sample treatment conditions, e.g., paraffin-embedded tissue.
