The recombinant heavy-chain anti-CNPase antibody is a genetic fusion of our established camelid anti-CNPase single-domain antibody (sdAb) to either a Mouse IgG1 or a Rabbit IgG Fc domain. It specifically recognizes mouse and rat CNPase.
The recombinant heavy-chain anti-CNPase antibody is a genetic fusion of our established camelid anti-CNPase single-domain antibody (sdAb) to either a Mouse IgG1 or a Rabbit IgG Fc domain. The resulting bivalent binders combine the high target specificity of sdAbs with maximal flexibility and coherence needed for Fc-domain-based applications. The antibody specifically recognizes mouse and rat CNPase. It can be detected using conventional secondary reagents or with our secondary nanobodies (Smart Secondaries®), which offer advantages in applications where secondary antibody clustering is a concern or where a smaller probe size is required. More information on recombinant heavy-chain antibodies (rHcAb) can be found here.
CNPase (2′, 3′-cyclic nucleotide 3′-phosphodiesterase), also known as CNP1, is one of the most abundant membrane-associated enzymes in the myelin sheath of the vertebrate nervous system. It may also be involved in the RNA metabolism of myelinating cells of the central nervous system (CNS), the oligodendrocytes. CNPase is frequently used as a marker for oligodendrocytes in the CNS and Schwann cells in the peripheral nervous system (PNS).
